Challenge Accepted

10 minute challenge #1: DONE.

I headed to TV5 Monde and watched their newscast for this morning (09h00 GMT). Despite being 19 minutes, I think it was a good starting point for my new crusade.

As I watched, I kept thinking about how dissecting a small segment of the program would be the perfect exercise for my French IIIH students.

I need to decide if reading about France (or other Francophone nations) will count towards this exercise. My mom bought me the memoir "A House in France" for Christmas. I think the book could reinforce my knowledge of culture, but probably will not be useful from a pedagogical standpoint. Only time will tell!

Here We Go

There was a time in my life where what I was learning wasn't up to me. I took the classes that I needed for a degree and read what was asked of me. Since received my M.Ed. last summer, it has been more difficult for me to continue my education in a meaningful way.

My hopes for this blog are as follows:
I'll spend ten minutes a day learning - not lesson planning or grading, but learning. This might look different every day, but it could be watching French language news, listening to French radio, reading an article about foreign language education, or tackling some literature about other teaching methodology. By posting here, I hope to keep myself more accountable and uncover some hidden gems that help me in my classroom.
